Guardian Glance for Mac · Beta
Your Guardian, on your Mac
Point at anything and ask. Get one clear next step when you’re stuck. Keep the distractions out.
We’re finishing Apple’s signing so macOS opens it without warnings. macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon or Intel.
Glance
Press ⌃⌥Space and ask about anything on your screen. The Guardian answers out loud and grounds it in a real line of wisdom.
Guardian Guidance
Press ⌃⌥A when you’re stuck. It reads your screen and tells you the one thing to do next.
Today
Your Align check-in, streak, next small step and where you’re slipping, with your iPhone’s gems and account.
Guard
Block the apps and sites that pull you away, and lock them for a while.
What it asks to use
- Screen Recording. The Guardian looks at your screen only when you press the hotkey. Nothing is recorded in the background.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition. Only while you ask out loud. Speech is turned into text on your Mac when possible, and audio is never kept.
- Automation (your browser). Only to close a site you asked it to block. macOS asks once per browser.
What leaves your Mac
- A screenshot and the text near your cursor are sent only when you ask, to the 6:8 server and an SI (AI) provider. They aren’t stored or used for training.
- Journal text is sent when you ask the Guardian to reply to it.
- Your check-ins, journal, goals and blocks stay on your Mac.
- Calendar access is add-only, or read only for Plan my day. Nothing from it leaves your Mac.
Before you install
- Sign in with the same account as the 6:8 iPhone app. Your gems are shared.
- A few Glances and screen reads are free each day. After that each one takes 1 gem.
- The Guardian is an SI (AI), not a therapist. In a crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or your local emergency number.
- It’s a beta, so some things may break. Tell us on the support page and we’ll fix them.
